I went and picked up jeric from behind and wondered why on earth there was hair all over the back of his onsie. No, it hadn't clicked yet...hair all over onsie, C just got caught with scissors. So, I went about my business for about another 10 minutes with Baby J on my hip and then it clicked!!! I looked at J's hair, and this is what I found!!!
there were more cut's on the top of the head, but those didn't turn out well in the picture. I then realized that his onsie was also cut up in the front! I flipped. I lost it. I was so upset realizing how close to baby's skin he had gotten and also feeling lucky that his skin hadn't been cut. But instead of focusing on that positive note, I looked at C and said, "do you think J liked getting his hair and onsie cut????" Of course with a yelling tone in my voice ;-/ He said with a smile, "yes?" Wrong answer. I then said, "How would YOU like it if your shirt got cut?" He said "I would not" So what did I do? I took the scissors and cut C's shirt he was wearing...right down the middle. Oh, it gets worse.
Then I marched him to the bathroom and basically yelled that he was going to get his hair cut too!!! So i pinned him down (not literally, but he was not fond of the idea) and buzzed his head to the 1/4" razor... He was crying and screaming and trying to put the hair back on his head and I sat there, realizing what I had just done...not even thinking about it, it had happened in a matter of minutes. So, then i realized how mean I had just been and started crying and holding him and then I called DH crying, telling him what a terrible mother I had just been. B just laughed and said, "You did what???" He couldn't believe it. I was in tears and he was dying of laughter...still is!
So, here is C's buzzed hair-do. He also will not let me throw away the shirt of his I cut and often puts it in my face shaking it, saying "How did it make you feel when you cut my shirt all up mom? You should of read your scriptures today!" And stomps off. It's awful, I feel awful still. But i guess others have done worse, so I should count my blessings that I didn't do anything too damaging...I hope.

And here is baby's buzz that we had to do because it was so obvious his hair had been cut in several places...very short. We can still spike the front, but he looks so grown up with short hair. I do like it, his eyes stand out so much more. But, still , the way it happened, I could've reacted a little better don't ya think?!? :-/

Oh Jen!
What a learning experience for you both, right? :-/
I can imagine how you felt...I have definitely had my days of feeling like a rotten mother, but we're trying our best! Your boys love you, and I just know Coleman will laugh about it one day. He knows that you love him, too!
I love you too!
Thats awesome I like the hair though way cute!
I love hair whacking stories. It makes me feel normal. I have a few my self. All hair grows anyway.
We have had a few scares with scissors and hair too. I'm sure you got through to him. I doubt he will ever pick up another pair of scissors without the thought you entering his mind. :) Your boys are cute and you're a good mother. I think every mother doubts her qualifications, but Heavenly Father knows that we are capable and with His help we can succeed at motherhood! I love that he said you should have read your scriptures! Right there is a perfect example of the wonderful mother that you are!
I am sorry but I can't stop laughing, probley because I would have done something very similar. It's funny how in the moment you don't really think about it and then after It's like "What the heck did I just do or say!" Anyway, you are an awesome mother so just remember that!
I LOVE that you posted that story. Why? Because EVERY one reacts like that sometimes, but no one likes to admit it or talk about it, so you go on thinking you're the only one who does it! Lol.
Don't worry, I don't think he was traumatized by it! You might have been, but I'm sure he's fine! :)
And yes, the hair cuts are cute.
i am absolutely in tears right now cuz i'm laughing so hard! That is absolutely an AMAZING story!
Give yourself a break- I'm sure he's learned his lesson. We all have our breaking points. It comforts me to know I'm not the only mom to lose it. Thanks!
Thats funny! I love the way kids put us in our place! They always seem to know the "perfect" thing to say! Just wait until you have a girl with scissors!
