Saving Money is Fun

So, shopping again. I promise i won't post these all the time. I am just doing it so that i can keep track this first month, to see my total monthly savings. I would've gotten more last night, things like tomatoe soup and canned soups, for food storage, but i left half my coupons home. It's been a long few days.

Brad has been home sick with flu, coleman hasn't been able to make it to the bathroom in time, so i finally started putting pull ups on him since i can't handle cleaning up that kind of stuff. After four times, it gets kind of old. And then yesterday i started feeling yucky. and today, worse. My ears are throbbing like crazy. Me, it is mostly the ears are just killing me.

so, my totals on this trip: Price before sales/coupons $112.83
Price after sales/coupons $ 32.71!!!!!

pretty exciting stuff. Once i start getting the hang of when the sales switch over and a good organization I think the time i spend preparing to go shopping will cut back a lot. Anyway, it is fun and i hope there are some sales on more food storage items instead of cereal. We have enough cereal to last us a year probably! anyway, but when it's .25-.50 a box, how can you resist? If the world ends, we will have cereal to live on!

Let me know your sweet coupon buys too! Or any tricks you may have along the way. When the best time to hit the stores are, etc.

I also use Grocery Smarts... Pinching Your Pennies uses their lists now, so it's the same thing.

I try to go first thing Wednesday morning. PYP (Pinching Your Pennies) has a "preivew" list available Tuesday... usually Tuesday morning, so I spend Tuesday evening getting everything ready. If I can get there before 10:00am I can usually get most of my list, but CEREAL goes quickly! And lately there have been killer cereal deals, but I hadn't bought cereal for a while because I hadn't seen any super deals for a few months. So, you'll be glad you stocked up. I buy about 25 boxes when I find a good sale and they'll last me a few months... until the next big sale.

If you watch, toothpaste and razors get some really good sales! I love Colgate and thought I would have to give it up for whatever had the best price... well, I've found it for $.50 frequently, so I will NEVER pay more than that for a tube of it again!

RiteAid & Walgreen's also have some AWESOME deals, especially on hygiene/non-food items. I get a list of stuff from them, so if you are interested I can email it to you weekly. Their sales run from Sunday to Saturday, so I go first thing Monday. Even then they're picked through (from the people who go on Sunday) but I can still get quite a bit. Mascara for FREE, Children's medicine, etc. Let me know, and I'll give you the info!

Where DO you get these coupons!? I've been wanting to do this, but I'm completely lost.
