Finally able to Breathe

About a two months ago, we noticed coleman's breathing at night getting really bad...scary bad. His ribs were retracting so bad, it looked like his ribs were going to snap in half going the opposite they are supposed to.

I took him to an allergy/asthma specialist and he said he needed his tonsils and adnoids out. He has been breathing through a hole smaller than that of a coffee stir stick since he was born (says the dr.). So we took him to an ENT doctor and scheduled the surgery. I wasn't nervous until we acutally had the date. I was really nervous about him getting dehydrated because he just wouldn't want anything. Well, he had his surgery last thursday and he was a champ!

We gave him tylenol that night at home and he hasn't had any pain killer since. Then next morning he asked for waffles...so we made some and he ate them. He is just acting like nothing has happened. It has been wonderful seeing as how I woke up the next day so sick. So, brad stayed home to take care of kids so i could rest.

anyway, we are so proud of coleman and how brave he was. I think mom and dad were more nervous about it then him. He can actually breathe through his nose at night now and i get worried because i can't hear him breathing...such a big change, but a good one!

Scary to see your kids go through something like that - I am so glad that things worked out okay for him (and his mom and dad).

Oh, that is so good and so sad all at the same time! I'm glad he is feeling better and that it didn't end up being some traumatic experience for you or him!

I am glad things worked out, it's always so nerve racking when things like this come up. The same thing happened to Bela last year. Her tonsils overlaped, it was so weird to see. She couldn't breath and then she was constantly sick. We had her tonsils removed and it has made a dramatic difference. Way to go to the three of you for being so brave!
Let's get together for sure when you are up. I was thinking about seeing if others were up for another SFHS get together. Would you be up for that or are you thinking just a quick lunch or something if you're already packed with plans. Let me know. I'm excited!

I have Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer. I download freebies from differnt websites. When I'm done I upload the pages to Shutterfly.com (6.99 per page) or printmyscrapbook.com(5.99 per page). I haven't got the pages back from printmyscrapbook so we'll see which one is better.
I still can't figure out how you did textured looking paper.

Hey Jennie-
I am so glad that you are all doing better now! What a scary thing for everyone, but it sounds like you were champs! We need to get together soon! Hunter's going to have a b-day party around the
21st so I'll let you know we would love to have you there!

Oh Jennie! I am so glad he is okay! That breaks my heart. It is so scary, you never know what is going on with your own kids even when they are right under your nose huh. You are a REALLY good mom to have noticed that.

Hey Jennie,
What a scary thing to have to go through. I couldn't even imagine what it must be like to feel as though your breathing through a tiny straw. I'm glad his surgery went well!

I just tried the viovio thing and you have to have a whole book ready to upload. I like to add pages as I get them done. If you have any other suggestions for cheaper ways of printing let me know.

OH, I am so glad he is doing better! I can kinda relate. That is SO scary. Jax was in the hospital for a week when he was little, so sad...RELIEF!!!

I know what it's like having your child in the hospital and it is so not fun! Ben has been in alot in his little life and it has made me HATE and love hospitals. Does that even make sense? Anyway, it totally gets easier when you send them to school! I thought I would be bawling and hating it but they learn so much and they are so fun when they come home and show you what they did! It is so much fun! I don't know what I am going to do next year because Ben will be in Kindergarten and Sam will be in Preschool...that's 6 hours a week without any kids...WOW!

Hey Jennie

I'm glad the little guy is doing better. It's amazing how tough and brave Coleman is. Thanks for all your nice comments. Let me know if I can ever help with anything.

Poor guy. I had to have mine out when I was 4 but mostly because I kept my parents up at night with my snoring. Cute story eh?
