Easter morning, I was busily boiling eggs for the kids to color when church got out...Jeric started screaming because he was hungry, so I pulled the pan off the stove and turned burner off.
Coleman was happily playing in the front room with his cowboys and Indians that the Easter Bunny had brought, so I didn't want to say, "Coleman, don't touch the stove because it's hot" . If I would have, he would have gone right in there and done so. So, I just rushed to the baby's room to get him and was walking back to feed him in the front room, when Coleman met me in the hall screaming, "I'm bleeding, I'm bleeding!" I frantically start looking and didn't see anything...then he held up his hand. He had burned it on the stove! The burner was off so it wasn't red, so he burned it. I felt like a terrible mother.
I didn't know what to do. Brad was at church with the car and I couldn't find the keys to the other one. So i called the phone number to the church, hoping someone would answer and I could tell them to get brad and send him home. Well, no luck. Then I decided to try a lady in our ward who is an EMT. She was luckily home, so she ran over and dr.'d him up. He was NOT a happy camper and let's just say he can't sleep good either.
So, monday morning i unwrapped it to put not meds and stuff, but there were blisters now, and big ones...I couldn't get a good pic of profile, but they probably poke out at least 1/2" on the palm. So, I made an appointment with dr. yesterday. He looked at it, told me what to do and said to bring him back on thursday. He is very uncomfortable and doesn't sleep well right now. Poor kid. He is having a rough time, and I feel like such a terrible mom...I shouldn't have left the room, but the baby was crying. I should have had him come with me to get the baby i suppose, but you just don't think anything can happen in the blink of an eye, but boy does it ever!

That looks so painful. I got a second degree burn on my leg once, however, I think the hand would be worse--you just use your hands way too much. Your not a terrible mom, it's impossible for anyone to always be thinking on the defense. It's easy to look back and wish you would have done things differently. Hope it gets better soon!
just answering your question in reference to "babies & bum problems." It very well could be the same problem. I have found that it is extremely common in women who have had babies. It's an actual bulge into your lady parts. A gynecologist can diagnose it. you don't have to go through a colonoscopy like I did. hope you figure it out.
Oh my! That's so terrible. How sad. Don't worry, though... every child has something like that happen at some point-- it doesn't make you a bad mother! Think of it this way, I bet he won't touch the stove any more. I know that is horrible to think of it that way.
I'm sorry... I hope he starts feeling better soon!
Poor little guy.
Hey Jenny. Did you like our blog? It was good to hear from you. I really like the name Jeric. I've never heard it before.
I'm not upset but you spelled my last name wrong on your friends list. There's only one 't' on the end.
Hope you boy is feeling better.

Didn't know you guys had one either! I think you and janet and I are the only ones in the family that blog! I just added you too!
Oh, I guess you do know Tyler! Duh I forgot! Monica is a little younger than me but went to dixie and the 4th ward of course! That's funny, it took me a second to figure out why you knew monica. She's a cutie!
How's the hand?
